SHOOTING DRILLS TO IMPROVE YOUR PERFORMANCE

KNOW YOUR LIMITS!

Especially designed for MRDS users. 3 sessions of 5 rounds each within a time limit of one minute. Application of the fundamentals are key here and also knowing your holdovers with a MRDS.

MRDS ZERO TARGET

We specifically developed this zeroingtarget for the RDS pistol users that wish to zero at 25m. You can also use it to zero your RDS optic on your rifle if you know the offset at 25m.

MENTAL CLOCK DRILL

This drill is a great trainingaid to apply different cadances. Start at 5 meter from the holster. Draw and hit all circles with the indicated amount of rounds. In which order you engage the circles is completely up to you.
In total you need 10 rounds. Each miss = add 1 second to total time.

COLD DRILL

Use this drill at the start and end of a workout. Start on the 5m, gun holstered, arms at your sides.
Pistol is loaded and ready with a magazine of 10 rounds. Have one spare magazine with minimum 3 rounds.
Draw and fire 5 shots at each circle, perform a speed slide lock reload and fire 3 rounds at the center circle. All hits must be inside the circles.

Pass: 15 sec or less
Good: 12 sec or less
Excellent: 9 sec or less

This drill consists of two main manipulations, namely drawing fast and speed reloading. Shooting the 2x5 circles as fast as you can, will give you a good indication of grip and recoil management. The drill also tests your mental clock during the transition from one of the big circles (speed) to the small circle (slowing down for precision).

ROLLERCOASTER DRILL

An interesting drill to end a training session. This drill combines fast sight alignment, accuracy and magazine reloads. The recommended distance is 3 meters but can be further depending on the desired level of difficulty. 
Draw from the holster and start with a nr 2 circle and fire the indicated number of rounds in the respective circle. Then you choose in which direction you want to go by following the line. At "3 + Reload" you fire the 3 shots first and then perform a magazine change. A number 1 circle only needs 1 round to be fired. In total you fire 18 rounds within a target time of 35 seconds with all hits.

8 MINUTE PISTOL DRILL

Accuracy and consistency is key for this drill. It tests the basic fundamentals of the shooter with both strong- and weak hand.

You need to put up 4 targets. Each target has its on sub drill and failure points.

Start the timer and shoot the 4 drills within 8 minutes.

Safety note: For target 4, draw the pistol with your weak hand and put the pistol between your knees, re-grip the pistol with your weak hand. To holster, reverse the procedure.

The Fundamentals Training Target provides you with a great way to train your pistol fundamentals.

With this target comes a full training session which gives you the opportunity to train your fundamentals in a fun and interesting way. This document is available through the QR code on the target and can be downloaded for your ​convenience. F
